Operational wise, this thing is smooth as butter, and it's the quietest running RC I have! I've only had traxxas and FMS, the quality on this unit does not disappoint! For a crawler, it's fast, but you can adjust the throttle adjustment to tame it down as slow crawling as you like. The foc motor is a work of art, no more adding additional throttle when encountering and obstacle. Just hold it steady, as slow as you want, it compensates for a smooth crawl, up and over.
Lighting affects are really nice, they're bright, and light up a good distance, wide pattern too. Only thing I noticed is the right rear taillight is white, instead of red, idk if this is intentional, it's not that noticeable because it's directly behind the jack.
I knew/know nothing about mjx RC cars, saw an add for the bronco which led me here. I'm not a Ford guy, so checked out their other offerings and saw this. Quick research, I found there's possibly 3 versions so far. The H8H, H8H+ and a V5. The box shows H8H/H8H+, the manual shows V5. From what I've gathered, the original has glued tires, this one doesn't. The original has a rear center battery tray, I believe the H8H+ had two, with one being up front. This V5 has only the one up front. Also notice this V5 has a blue roof, where it appears the previous two have an orange roof. The V5 was introduced late 2025. This went out of stock after I bought it, and was the only one I found in stock, online, when I was researching it. IDK if this is a Dutch company, but the manual is in English and Deutsch only. It appears more prevalent in Europe than the US. It was right there price wise with a TRX 4, yet includes full lighting and is larger, smoother running. Photos provided to show size difference compared to a TRX 4 K5 Blazer.
I'll probably replace the wheels with aluminum with brass, it could use a little weight down low, the tires are excellent, and grippy, soft and rubbery.
Details are excellent, suspension is great. Controller is the only the feels cheap, but it functions great and is clearly marked. Haven't installed the app yet to see what all function settings are available for the esc.
Direct RC was fast to ship, and fast to arrive due to being a Midwest company.
Great packaging and fast shipping, love the MJX , very smooth and quiet. About to add brass up front.
Very good quality would recommend 👌🏿
